Spanish Level 1, Thursdays, 7:15 p.m. - 8:45 p.m., starting
January 24th with Sonia Adalgiza Zepeda Stevenson. Sonia
Adalgiza Zepeda Stevenson grew up in a farming family in El
Salvador. She earned an M.A. from  Middlebury College and
teaches Spanish at Erskine Academy, a position she has held for
more than 15 years. Sonia’s curriculum relies on colorful story
telling of her native country. It’s a special event when Sonia’s
mother comes to the class and demonstrates how to make some
El Salvadoran dishes.

Spanish Level II, Thursdays, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., starting
January 24th with Sonia Adalgiza Zepeda Stevenson.

Spanish Level III, Thursdays, 5:30- 7:00 p.m., starting
January 24th with Patricia Valdivia Marcos Hyland. Patty is from
Lima, Peru and teaches Spanish at Mt. View High School in
Thorndike. She earned a B.S. from Sacred Heart University in
Lima and has seven years of teaching experience. She uses
songs, games, role playing and skits in her classroom. Her
approach to teaching is to get students to communicate and
speak as much as possible. “Everyone can learn a foreign
language, no matter how old you are.”

Brown-bag Cena Informal conversation in Spanish,
with Marisela Funes Jones. Bring your own comida every
Tuesday from 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. Intermediate Spanish teacher
Marisela Funes keeps the conversation rolling along in Spanish.

Spring
session cena starts February 5th.

Spanish Level IV, Tuesdays, 7:15 - 8:45 p.m., starting
February 5th with Marisela Funes. She is a native of Argentina,
and has a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. Currently, she
teaches at Colby College. Marisela’s academic research is
focused on Argentine politics and film. Her classes at Let’s Talk
focus on reading and discussing short stories by Latin American
and Spanish authors. This class follows the brown-bag cena. The
class will focus on cuentos del mundo de hispano-hablantes.
Ms. Funes is from Argentina and teaches Spanish at Colby
College.
